I recently travelled to Florida to see family, and ofcourse checked out a new course while I was there. Anytime I travel I bring a few discs with me as they are really easy to fit into a suitcase or carryon. Since there are disc golf courses all over, I know I am going to want to play some wherever I am. This time I played Tortoise Run in Fort Myers. This is a really nice course that offers a variety of shot selections, some are tight shots through trees, some are pretty open, and a couple are over a lot of vegetation that you need to clear. This course caters to people different with skill sets as they have 2 different tee pads and baskets on every hole. There is one for AM players with shorter shots, and one for pros with longer more challenging shots. I had the course to myself for most of the round, which is always nice. Coming from 9,000’ above sea level discs definitely fly differently so it takes a couple shots to remember what I need to change. However, I do love how they fly further once you make the adjustments.
If you ever get to Florida I would highly suggest playing this course. I have played several courses in Florida now and this one is definitely my favorite. The 3rd hole is near other activities and not the best placement, but it gets much better after that hole, so keep playing.
Have a great round!
